2024 Volvo Penta D13 MH IMOIII/EU 331 kW/450 hp
Volvo Penta D13 MH IMOIII is a variable speed, in-line 6-cylinder, 12.8-liter direct-injected marine diesel auxiliary engine with twin-entry turbo and aftercooler. It's designed to cope with high back pressure and high-sulfur fuel (1,000ppm). The SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) exhaust after treatment system is tailored for a perfect fit. The SCR unit, also a silencer, reduces noise by 35-40 dBA. Volvo Penta has been able to fulfil IMOIII and Inland Waterway Stage V exhaust emission targets while maintaining the same low fuel consumption. And thanks to SCR, the engine power output remains unaffected.
Features may include:
The perfect match- Volvo Penta’s full range of marine diesel engines offer reliable and fuel-efficient onboard electrical power generation and power for cranes, pumps, air compressors and other heavy equipment.
Reliable and powerful- No matter what application, this auxiliary engine’s robust design with a ladder frame bolted to the engine block makes it highly reliable. Its rigid in-line cylinder block with generously dimensioned crankshaft bearings, water-cooled exhaust manifold, and twin-entry turbo provide a powerful engine.
Easy installation – service friendly- Designed to withstand high exhaust back pressure, this auxiliary engine is easy to install and perfect for installations that require additional, third-part emission control equipment. Its good accessibility also facilitates service and maintenance.
High fuel efficiency and low on emissions- By controlling the unit injectors and fuel distribution, the EMS electronic management system optimizes the fuel-air mixture leading to improved combustion. The result is high thermal efficiency, high fuel efficiency and reduced exhaust emissions.
Superior load-taking capability- Together, the twin-entry turbo with pulse charging, and the highly efficient speed control system give this engine superior load-taking capability.
Electronic control systems- Two options for on-board electronic control: Marine Commercial Control System is a flexible and expandable control and monitoring system for classified installations. Open CAN Interface, engine delivered without control system, with different options with or without shut-down senders and switches.
