2024 Volvo Penta D16 MG IMOIII 60 Hz 504 kWe
Our new Volvo Penta D16 MG IMO III is an in-line 6-cylinder, 16.1-liter direct-injected engine that is especially developed for installations in heavy duty commercial displacement crafts. While surpassing the requirements of the latest IMO Tier III emission regulations. The new D16 MH/MG IMO Tier III marine engine package is designed to sustain high backpressure while delivering high power, efficiency and low fuel consumption. The SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) exhaust after treatment system is tailored for a perfect fit. The SCR unit, also a silencer, reduces noise by 35-40 dBA. The engine features a robust block with ladder frame, high pressure unit injector system, 4 valves per cylinder, twin parallel turbocharger with wastegate and charge air cooler.
Features may include:
The complete solution- The Volvo Penta Genset system is the complete solution for a ship’s onboard power requirements. It comes complete with engine, generator and monitoring system, all tested and ready for installation onboard. Engine and generators are type approved by major classification societies. The genset can be delivered with complete classification certificates.
- The engine’s robust design with a ladder frame bolted to the engine block makes it highly reliable. Its rigid in-line cylinder block with generously dimensioned crankshaft bearings, water-cooled exhaust manifold, and turbo provide a powerful engine.
- Designed to withstand high exhaust back pressure, this genset is easy to install and perfect for installations that require additional, third-part emission control equipment. Its good accessibility also facilitates service and maintenance.
- The common-rail fuel system makes the engine highly fuel efficient. The control unit monitors several parameters which reduces the overall fuel consumption and reduced exhaust emissions. The common-rail technology means minimal vibrations and low noise levels.
- Together, the twin-entry turbo with pulse charging, and the highly efficient speed control system give this engine superior load-taking.
- Volvo Penta Marine Commercial Control System is an engine control and monitoring system that is easily integrated into the ship’s control system. All actions are displayed with text messages and logged in a non-erasable memory.
